For artist and educator Sonia Muñoz, “finding your artistic voice” isn’t a single moment — it’s a lifelong process.
Her journey has taken her from studying painting and ceramics in California to experimenting with abstract, surreal, and natural subjects, to crafting jewelry and illustrating digitally. Each step has been part of refining her focus and understanding what truly inspires her: the vibrant interplay of color, light, and movement, and the joy of trying something new.
Through her work and teaching, Sonia explores questions every creative faces:
- How do you decide what to focus on when you want to try everything?
- What role does mentorship play in shaping your art?
- What does it mean to be a “mature” artist?
- How do you define success when it’s often behind the scenes?
Finding your focus is a process. You have to experiment, learn what you like, what you don’t, and keep growing.
