Plein Air Meetup
October 1 @ 6:15 pm – 7:15 pm
Step outside the studio and join us for an En Plein Air painting class led by Becca Burns. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, you’ll learn the basics of outdoor painting while bringing your own style to the canvas. All supplies are included for $25 (reserve in advance), or you’re welcome to bring your own and drop in by donation. Proceeds support the Philosopher’s House nonprofit through food, drink, or donations.
About the Artist
Becca Burns is a Johnson City–based artist and educator with a lifelong love of creativity. With a degree in Biology, she blends scientific curiosity with artistic practice, creating work that reflects both exploration and wonder. Her studies have taken her from local landscapes to the countryside of France, and today she shares her passion for art as a teacher to Pre-K through 5th grade students in Kingsport.
About the Location
This class takes place at The Philosopher’s House, a nonprofit teahouse and community space. Nestled in downtown Johnson City, the teahouse provides the perfect setting for painting outdoors while enjoying refreshments and community connection. All donations and purchases directly support the continuation of this creative space.
